In the process of cleaning useless entries and locking my journal. It'll be semi-friends only eventually, with subsections for local friends and online friends, as well as open posts for people that aren't my friends but still want to see something. No particular reason, I just feel like screening my various rambling entries a little more.

Happiest fucking day of my life thus far.

Got accepted to Johnson and Wales in North Carolina. I promptly hyperventilated and very nearly threw up. This is...An amazing weight off my shoulders. Now real life begins, I guess. 8Db

Dudes, I missed the Geocities shut down. I wanted to sit there refreshing a Geocities page until it came up as a broken link BUT I FORGOT OR SOMETHING. GJ, TONBERRY.

Goddammit, I feel like part of my childhood just died. Now I can't remember if the old fansites that I used to browse were Geocities or Tripod...I MAY NEVER FIND THAT ONE POKEMON FANFIC AGAIN, DAMMIT. Pretty sure my accidental stumbling upon slash fiction was through a Geocities site. LOL FOR RANDOM LINKING THROUGH YAHOOLIGANS. From one Digimon fansite (called 'em "shrines" back in my day, young'uns) to another to another to HOLY COW ARE MATT AND TAI KISSING?

Actually, this didn't disturb me nearly as much as you'd expect. I didn't start shipping slash pairings until a few years later, though. It was more of a headtilt reaction from me.

I should go back to Yahooligans and do random searches again, maybe see if I can find those old sites. Is Yahooligans even still up? I don't know, I never even go on regular Yahoo anymore. I bet all the sites I used to browse in the '90s to early '00s are all SO DEAD. Frozen and stuff. If I find them, I'll link them just so you can see what occupied my time for so long as a child.

Oh, I found hte cable for my external hard drive. It somehow got caught in the lining of my backpack. Yay for not needing to buy another one! I also bought a lab coat last night for my Halloween costume, so I have an important question for anyone that reads this entry:

Should I be a...

...Mad Scientist?

...Zombie Doctor?

...Zombie Mad Scientist?

...Scrap it all and just be a zombie again?

CAST YOUR VOTES.

HHHNNNRGH!
I can't find the cable to my external hard drive, which means that I can't access my music library to run iTunes or sync my iPod. This is bogus.

I had it with me when I went to North Carolina over the weekend, I think. At least I know I had it in Culinary on Friday because I had iTunes set up and playing music while I was pretending to work. I didn't take it out Friday night or Saturday because I was remember that I was watching Speed Racer on my laptop after we got into the hotel and I had the whole big tour on Saturday.

This is just another turd on the shit pile.

Oh well, at least I know that, if it's still in my Culinary Arts classroom, it's safe. I'm lucky I didn't misplace Chekov itself. Worst case scenario, I can replace the cable with one that's maybe longer and stays plugged in better.

...lol

Does anyone know of any reason why I would have downloaded a gay Nazi Unicorn x American Soldier porn novel? I mean, totally hypothetically. Could you rationalize that for me? Please?

Weird stuff just happened.

I tried downloading BitComet and a torrent of Stormwatchers and The Authority (my addiction to big gay superheroes has reached an all time low if I'm going for torrents), and CDisplay to read it a little easier, but some strangeness started. After downloading CDisplay, I couldn't open my start menu. Okay, fine. Get rid of that. It would be convenient, but I can live without. Next, I went to open the torrent and my internet just dropped. Well, bummer. Better reboot and hope it comes back up. It didn't. I had to go downstairs and reset the router to get internet working for me again. I dunno if it was the torrents that kicked me off or what. I deleted the torrent file of Stormwatchers and The Authority and uninstalled BitComet.

Unfortunately, I'm sort of out a good comic series now. I've still got the files of New Avengers that I downloaded, but I reeeeeeally wanted to read Stormwatchers and The Authority. I remember plucking one of the comics off the shelf in a bookstore somewhere out of state and just falling in love with some of the characters. I was hoping to get the full thing. Apollo and Midnighter are like gay versions of Superman and Batman. WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO READ THAT?

So, basically, if anyone has scans of Stormwatchers and/or The Authority that they'd be willing to share with me, I'd be forever grateful.

Musings and ideas

I installed my dad's copy of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 and I'm currently uninstalling Paint Shop Pro 9. I didn't realize how much I'd come to love that piece of shit over the years. See? I'm insulting it. I must be fond of it. I think I've had that since the eighth grade or something. I remember going to Circuit City with dad to buy it and being amazed at the sheer size of the manual. I did battle with it for years, learning by doing rather than by studying the fucking textbook that came with it. I managed to spew out some decent quality stuff (decent in how I used the tools rather than my artistic skill, or lack thereof).

Nevertheless, PSPPX2 is a much nicer program and I really like the look of it. It's awesome for modding Sims, which is what I use it for on dad's desktop. The tools are great and, even though the focus is on photo editing rather than drawing, it has a nice selection of tools. I also put oC1.1 on my new external as well as GIMP for Windows. Though GIMP crashed right away when I tried to boot it. HMM. We'll see about that.

Musings done. Moving on to the ideas.

I made [info]knife_n_lantern a while back as a comm for me to post my writing at. [info]anodyne_geno really helped me with the layout (reads: she did it), but I think I'm going to scrap the look and start fresh. Instead of just a writing journal, that'll be a media journal. I'll post writing, drawings, songs for download, pictures (probably of food), and anything else I feel like doing. Instead of locking the posts after a few weeks (which I never did anyway), I'm just gonna leave it all up. Overall, I want a brighter, more creative look for the place. I can put artsy stuff there, and leave all my boring blah blah moments on this journal. That way, people don't have to friend me to see fun stuff! :D If I post something on KNL, I'll most likely make a note of it here just because I love beating dead horses.

So I'll be taking care of that tonight. Since KNL will be all me, I'm gonna go ahead and remove the art post you put up and remove you from the mod list, Anodyne. THIS WILL BE A FABULOUS EXERCISE IN FUTILITY AND I WILL LOVE IT.

I should make a custom moodtheme one of these days. Whatever happened to that X-Files moodtheme I was making? wtf, self. You are a lazy ho.
tonberry <3
No? Well...I made some anyway. I was bored, and I ran out of flour.

Tonberry + Sims = Simberry? Yeah, sure, that works )

I just like making sims, I guess. Dad reformatted his computer and I lost whatever I had, so I get to make them all over again. This is actually the exciting part for me. I saved all of my downloads, but lost my custom jobs. I'll have to wait until he reinstalls Paint Shop Pro Photo on his computer, because I don't have the room on my laptop to work with anything big like Zash's funky streaked hair. YOU HEAR ME, ZASH? YOU ARE GIVING ME TROUBLES WITH YOUR DAMN HAIR.

I...I just accidentally deleted most of my music library.

HOW DID I EVEN DO THAT. FUCK.

I'm running through and making a list of what I lost to occupy myself, which may well be the only reason why I haven't gone insane and killed something yet. Not that I'm calm by any means, but I'm making a list and that's enough to distract me.

Freudian Slips are pretty revealing.

Still in a foul mood. Stole this from [info]tonks17 a while back.

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Mark the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own

Music list under the cut )

Yeah, I didn’t realize how much of my library was video game music and instrumentals until I did this.

Guess away.

Icon rambles + Pokemon info

I'm switching out some icons, since most of the ones I have are old and were made in MSPaint. At least the ones I made were, since I was lazy and my tablet doesn't always want to work with me. All of the icons below are more for my reference than anything else, but feel free to look at them and all my commentary on them.

Tonny's icons blah blah blah )

For those of you that DON'T care about me getting rid of old iconsicons but DO care about Pokemon Platinum: Darkrai event's up until September 13th. It's via wi-fi, and you get the Membership Pass or whatever to sleep in the locked hotel. THEN YOU GET TO ACTUALLY CATCH DARKRAI. I missed the last Darkrai event, where they gave away ones with Spacial Rend and Roar of Time, so I'm pretty psyched about this one. Also, psyched about the gold and silver remakes with the dumb names so I can have all of my favorite Pokemon follow me around and I can give them stupid nicknames and be like "LET'S GO, SHOEHORN. TIME TO KICK ASS." I had a Lapras named Shoehorn. It was epic.

Rock Band 2 post for the Bevin Comm, mostly. I ran my Wii through the DVD player/recorder and recorded myself while doing vocals (the fret bar covers up most of the screen when I play guitar or bass) Then, I played the disc on my computer and took screenshots just by pausing and printing the screen. Tweaked a little in PSP9, just to make the images easier to look at.
